The gigs in California have been excellent so far, and we’re in Santa Barbara today. This place is exactly as you’d imagine, all sun and air. Here’s the view from the car park where the tour bus has been sleeping.

I’m here for MusicPEI, collaborating with Canadian songwriter Dennis Ellsworth. We’re playing a gig on Sunday at the Alibi Lounge, in Charlottetown. Fifteen dollars gets you entry and dinner. This chap in the picture is called Winslowe.

The electrifying Ms Hannigan has invited me back on tour. This time I’m opening half the US shows, but I’ll be playing guitar and singing in her band throughout. She’s some lady.

The two-disc tribute to John Martyn, ‘Johnny Boy Would Love This’ was released on August 15th. My version of ‘Walk To The Water’ is on there along with contributions from David Gray, Lisa Hannigan, Beck, Vetiver, The Swell Season and Robert Smith among others.
